Americade. This is the big one: Motorcycle reunion extravaganza...35,000 cycles roar into town for one big weekend celebration. All kinds of events and all kinds of people! Best is the big motorcycle parade, which ends up on the summit of Prospect Mountain.

Lake George Jazz Festival during the weekend after Labor Day. Jazz on the shoreline of Lake George for free and most tourists are gone by now. It just doesn't get any better than this!
Oktoberfest at the Great Escape. German bands, food, folk dancers, rides, crafts, and autumn leaves and of course, German beer!
Oktoberfest at Gore Mountain. The weekend after the Oktoberfest at the Great Escape, you can do it all over again at Gore Mountain in North Creek, just up the road from Lake George. No thrilling rides, but you get to ride the gondola up the mountain.
