Uniquely Adirondack Shopping

Moose Creek Limited North

This is a beautiful but pricey shop selling high-quality lodge-style interior decor items and accessories worthy of a Martha Stewart-designed Adirondacks palace. The items really are unique and you will find something you really want to own, but be prepared to pay for quality. Go here for wonderful decor inspiration, or just for the fun of it. It's a fantasy lodge, with museum-quality decor itself, not to mention the items being sold. Dark wood walls, deep rich colors ultra elegance, Adirondacks style! The Moose Creek Limited North is located on Route 149 in Lake George.

Indian Tepee Gift Shop

There's a real mish-mash of gift items in here, including some very distinctly non-Adirondacks and non-Lake George items, but hey, while you're shopping for tourist knick knacks, you might as well go to a one-stop shop. For example, this is the place to go for moccasins, silver jewelry, or Christmas ornaments. Some practical item for sale inclue Sperry Top-Sider boat shoes, a necessity if you're going to cruise up and down Lake George in style. You can buy Yankee Candles here as well, which of course fit in nicely anywhere you happen to be on vacation. The Indian Tepee Gift Shop is located on Main Street in the town of Bolton Landing, which is nearby to Lake George.

Hearthside Artisans II

The Hearthside Artisans II is just outside Lake George Village, on Route 9N in the hamlet of Diamond Point. Diamond Point is on the Lake as you drive North. This is the spot where local artisans have come together to offer their unique items for sale all in one spot. You will find paintings, jewelry, Christmas tree ornaments, and lots more here. Definitely worth a stop if you're driving up the Lake.

Harness Shop Artisans

This collective for local artisans, musicians and authors is housed in a fabulous old buildings on Main Street in Chestertown, which is just up the Thruway from Lake George. The space itself is very Adirondacks, with rustic chairs and beautiful photographs of Lake George. Sometimes one of the artists is in the house, and you can watch him or her at work. Good shopping here, quality one-of-a-kind heirloom items and they gift-wrap too.

The Ralph Kylloe Gallery

On the outside, this is a log cabin. On the inside, it's a design gallery chock full of interior design items that will make any home look like it's perched on the edge of Lake George in the Adirondack mountains. There is furniture, antler chandeliers, things made of birch bark, and old-timey items to hang on your wall for a rustic cabin look. They offer design services for your home, too. It's located on Route 9N in Lake George.

Outlet Shopping

Basket Barn of Vermont

Don't be misled by the name: this place is really in Lake George. It really does sell baskets...tens of thousands of baskets are for sale here, as well as everything else under the stars that you could possible every make out of wicker. There is wicker furniture and accessories in addition to baskets of every shape, size, and hue. The store is part of a three-store group across New England and Lake George, originating with a family-run basket store from the 1950's. It's easy to find, as it's on the Outlet strip on Highway 9, amongst other outlet chains which you can't miss. There are signs everywhere for this popular outlet area in Lake George.

The Factory Outlets of Lake George

This is an outlet shopper's mecca, and shoppers really do drive to Lake George just to shop at this particular grouping of outlets. The Factory Outlets of Lake George consists of four complexes right next to each other on Highway 9 in Lake George, just south of Lake George Village. There are over 70 stores, and you can easily spend all day long exploring them and shopping.

Ellsworth Sport Shop

Did you come to Lake George to go fishing? Well, you'll definitely need to know the location of Ellsworth Sport Shop. They have everything you'll need, plus anything your hunting friends might require, as well. Ellsworth is located on Highway 9 in Lake George.

Syd & Dusty's Outfitters

This outfitter's dream store is another mega-log cabin, with kayaks out front on the porch and all kinds of outdoorsy items hanging from the walls, tempting you, calling out to you. The staff is friendly and they'll help you find almost anything you could want in the line of camping, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, or just anything that takes place out-of-doors and requires gear. They have North Face and Patagonia outerwear and kayak rentals here, too. In winter, get your snowboards here, and your cross-country skis, and your downhill ski boots, and skis...whatever you need. Syd & Dusty's Outfitters is located at the corner of Higheay 9 and Route 149 in Lake George.

Lake George Mini Chopper

First, you have to know what a Price Chopper is, in order to know what a Mini Chopper would consist of. A Price Chopper is simply one of upstate New York's biggest supermarket chains. Therefore, you would expect to find basic necessities at the Mini Chopper...and you do. Come here to get your staples and there's a deli for your lunches on the lake. They've got videos for those rainy nights in your cabin, too. It's located on Amherst Street in Lake George, right in the village.

The Book Warehouse

This bookstore is located in The Factory Outlets of Lake George. As the name suggests, there are thousands and thousands of books for sale here, and every single one of them is discounted for your ultra savings. Check out the Adirondacks section. It's discounted too!
